Have you ever forgotten that you were wearing sunglasses?

You’re standing there minding your own business, and all of a sudden someone comments, “Hey, why are you still wearing those sunglasses?”

The sun disappeared long ago, the need for your sunglasses vanishing, but you lost your frame of reference and continued to wear them. At one point, those sunglasses were helping you, shielding you from the harsh rays of the sun. However, right before you took them off, those sunglasses were only a hindrance to your vision.

As soon as you take them off, you notice how bright and vivid the world is. Colors seem new again, your perspective realigned. “Wow, I was missing out, I can’t believe I had those on for so long,” you think to yourself.

It’s important to check ourselves every now and then to see if we forgot to take off our sunglasses. There won’t always be someone around to remind us, and it’s easy to forget we have them on. It’s even worse when they’re rose-tinted glasses… those tend to make red flags just look like regular old flags, and that can be a dangerous thing.
